Important Notes

To ensure the safety upon completion of the Event, all participants shall thoroughly understand the following points:

  • Eligible participants must be Hong Kong Permanent Residents aged 4 or above. Participants who aged below 18 must obtain prior consent from his/her parent or guardian before enrolment. 
  • All participants and parent or guardian of participant aged below 18 must read and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions before joining the Event, otherwise the participant will be disqualified.
  • Participant who completes the enrolment process represents the participant’s understanding, acceptance and willingness to comply with the rules, terms and conditions and arrangement of the Event.
  • A confirmation email and race pack collection notification will be sent to the participants’ registered email address within 10 working days after the enrolment is received by the Organizer. If participants do not receive the confirmation, please contact the Event Secretariat at 2117 1650 or email to smokefreerun@sportsoho.com.
  • Race pack (including a drawstring bag, a Wise Mike T-shirt, a race bib, a sports towel and a water bottle, etc.) can be collected from the date receiving race pack collection notice at the designated time period and location. Please also bring along the following documents to collect the race pack in order to complete various challenges: (Race pack collection arrangement might be subject to changes in view of the latest situation of novel coronavirus pandemic. Please stay tuned to the latest announcement on event website or email notification.
    • i) Notification email of the race pack collection (either hardcopy or softcopy shown by electrical device)
    • ii) Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID card) / Passport
  • Race pack can be collected by SF Express upon participants’ request during registration. All freight and charges shall be borne by participants. For details, please refer to the terms and conditions on the event website.
  • Participants shall ensure own physical condition is suitable for joining the Event. Should you have any doubt, please seek medical advice in advance.
  • Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure shall not participate in the Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the Event. The registration fee will not be refunded.
  • All participants shall put on proper sportswear for the Event. The Organizer reserves the rights to disqualify any participant with improper or illegal action during the Event or in the submitted activity records.
  • All activity records shall be measured and recorded by participant’s own devices such as smart watches or mobile phone applications. Each activity record uploaded must clearly show the activity date, time, elapsed time (the time that participant starts recording the activity until the end of record), route and distance. Participants shall also upload the photos at their starting and finishing points (the photos must clearly show the participant and its race bib). The record and photos shall be uploaded to participant’s individual account on the event website. No record will be accepted after the Event period.
  • The Organizer will check and verify all activity records uploaded by the participants. The Organizer reserves the right to delete any invalid activity records and disqualify the corresponding participant from receiving any souvenirs or prizes.
  • Each Participant is entitled for one enrolment for each category only. Each activity record can only be uploaded once.
  • All activity records, including activity data and photos, will be used for the administration and promotion use of the Event.
  • The Organizer will not compensate or accept any liability for any damages or loses of any activity record.
  • Participant shall complete the Event by his/her own effort. External assistance such as tools, equipment and manpower will not be accepted and the corresponding record will not be recognized.
  • Participants and the parent or guardian of participant who aged below 18 must ensure all information, including personal contact, is accurate, and no impersonation of any third party. 
  • Any participant who provides invalid personal data, false details or fake activity record will be disqualified and the registration fee will not be refunded.
  • Participants must follow the Organizer’s instructions, arrangement and terms and condition of the Event. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any offenders and terminate his/her participation in the Event. No results or certificates will be issued and the registration fee will not be refunded. The decision of the Organizer is final and conclusive.
  • The participant and parent or guardian of participant who aged below 18 shall be responsible for any violation of law or regulations which causes damage and losses to the Organizer or any third party.
  • The Organizer shall not be liable for any legal responsibility in relation to any delay, loss, error, or illegibility in the information sent or registered by any participant or any notice sent by the Organizer due to computer, internet, telephone, technology or causes that cannot attribute to the Organizer. The participant may not dispute.
  • Participants are strongly advised to check the mobile phone network coverage before starting the activity. (Click here for more information)
  • Participation in the Event is voluntary. The Participant and parent or guardian of participant who aged below 18 agree and accept all risks involved in the Event and gives up any right to claim from the organizing entities, including the Organizer, the Event Secretariat and Sponsors, on any personal injuries, accidents, death or other damage or losses caused by the activities of the Event. Participants and parents or guardians must ensure that themselves and/or their children are fit and suitable for participating in the Event. Participants can purchase their own insurance coverage if necessary.
  • Participants shall avoid to bring any valuable items. The Organizer is not responsible for any loss or damage of the property.
  • Duplicated applications will be perceived as single application. Additional registration fee will not be refunded, and cannot be transferred to other participant or race category.
  • If participant cannot join the Event for any personal reason, the registration fee will not be refunded and cannot be transferred to other participant or race category.
  • Late enrolment will not be accepted.
  • Enrolment with incomplete information will not be accepted.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event due to the situation of novel coronavirus pandemic or other factors. The Organizer will announce the corresponding information according to the circumstance on the official event website.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to accept/ refuse and contact participants.
  • By enrolling in the Event, all participants and parent or guardian of participant who aged below 18 agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the Event and the terms of use of this website.

Event day

  • Participants shall pay attention to their health condition before starting the activity. Please do not continue the activity if feeling unwell.
  • Participants shall plan in details before start, and try to avoid rocky, uneven and steep course.
  • On the Event day, participants are advised to check the weather condition from the Hong Kong Observatory (Tel: 1878200). If the inclement weather/ condition warning is being hoisted, participants are advised to cease the activity and take safety as the main concern.
  • Please do warm up exercises before the activity to prevent any injury.
  • Participants shall prepare adequate food and drinks during the activity, including water, energy bar or energy drinks. Wear appropriate sportswear and take sufficient sun protection measures such as wear loose-fitting clothing.  
  • Participants shall always follow the latest guidelines of Prevention and Control of Disease Regulations announced by the Government during the activity. Participants are advised to wear the surgical mask properly and keep personal hygiene.
  • Participants shall be aware of the latest situation of the novel coronavirus pandemic and choose the suitable period and location for activity under safe condition.

E-Certificate and Prize

  • Participant will receive e-certificate, souvenirs and prizes (if applicable) after successful enrolment and achieving the target set by the Organizer during event period.
  • Each participant who completes the target will receive one set of souvenirs (if applicable) only.
  • All prizes and souvenirs cannot be returned, replaced or exchanged for cash or any other products.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to request participants to provide supporting documents for identification while collecting the prizes or souvenirs.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or change any souvenirs or prizes and alter the terms and conditions for the collection of souvenirs or prizes without prior notice. The Organizer has the final decision on all matters concerning the souvenirs or prizes.

Others

  • If the Event cannot be held as scheduled due to novel coronavirus pandemic or other factors, the Organizer reserves the right to cancel, terminate, amend or suspend the Event. The Organizer will announce the corresponding information according to the circumstance on the Organizer’s website and the announcement on the Organizer’s website shall prevail.
  • The Organizer reserves the rights to amend and clarify of the above rules and regulations. Any temporary changes or cancellations of related activities will be subject to the latest announcement on the event website.
